here I shout into the void. I'll probably make a theme for this someday...but for now, have your generic responsive css. Blog entries will not count as site updates and as such will not be listed in changelog. (That's too much work).
Return:sweats: 40 pieces to file and upload...I'll probably just try to get it out of the way today. At least filing my own work is like 30% less annoying than filing character artwork tbh
ArtFight ends today! (Well, technically tomorrow, but functionally today since I won't have time tomorrow). So many thoughts about it. After I unpack it all myself I'll start working on the wrap-up page on the website along with some new statistics-related illustrations and page designs.
I also got an attack from one of my favorite artists ever, which was such a surprise. It's literally just a bust shot but I've been squealing like a excited little piglet. On a side note, people are definitely scrambling a bit...never got like 3 attacks in a single day.
I've been working on the new "reviews" page on VSCode these last couple of days. It's much more functional and less of an eyesore than the neocities editor, and also allows innate previews with some work so I don't have to refresh a webpage 2817502729 times, but sometimes I wish I could figure out how to just port my file quickly from VSCode to neocities. I just copy-and-paste right now, and I spend so much time fixing errors mostly because my images and stuff are routing under a different link address. I know there's a thing that does it for you, but honestly I'm not that bothered by it if I don't think about it that much.
I did figure out how to make a native "message" shape for one of my div elements(?) though, so that's pretty cool.
Work was also a bit slow so I spent some time scrolling on Neocities Explore pages. I'm trying to get a bit of inspo on some page redesigns that I'm excited to start after AF ends in like 3 days.
Neocities went down this morning a little bit...got me panicked since we just had that NameChimp(?) or something incident like maybe a month ago.
Yesterday, I was working on some doodles in my journal while sipping on a cappuccino. I had my headphones plugged in and all. This high-schooler came by and said that she really liked my art. Honestly, what an ego boost. I hope she's having a wonderful day.
Did my Artfight housekeeping today...people really are more active on the weekends. Which, I guess, makes sense, given that they have more time. I'm certainly feeling a bit of the exhaustion now, since it's the last stretch, but doing more of the art now with less expectation that I'll actually get counters has been oddly liberating. Although, subconsciously, I'm definitely still focusing on targeting people who have a higher ratio.
[STATUS] I'm so sore everywhere ;-; but I've had such an active weekend that it's been very nice. Tomorrow we go back to the drawing board.
Finished another attack today...I wanted to do a fullbody originally but I really liked my idea, so I stuck with it. Thinking about the agony it'll take to upload my 30+ attacks from this year...
I told myself I was gonna finish a TV show, but I just ended up watching a bunch of YT documentaries while I draw. Maybe I'll resolve to finish watching Brand New Cherry Flavor, but I don't know how many more visceral images of puking up kittens I can take.
[STATUS] Just a bit sleepy...I did a hike and a city walk today. May my feet get good rest tonight.
I probably did my favorite attack today for artfight this year, so I just got a bit demotivated afterwards lol. (How would I reach this peak again, I wonder). It's an AU version of Solaestial's Chris x Russell dynamic where I played with a different line style and cel-shaded instead of my usual painterly blend thing. I actually quite like this method of shading, but I think I'll need to study it more. As for Solaestial, my favorite End Roll artist, I don't know if they'll remember me from the Discord interaction a while back, but I was so excited when she posted that she was going to do AF this year.
Seeing that attack of 230 points motivated me to write more in my interactions document. It's currently only on my artfight, but once it ends and I draw more assets, I'm planning to overhaul the minigames directions page so it's more interactive and pretty. So many things I'm thinking about designing.
[STATUS] I've been playing a lot of minesweeper lately. There's something inherently soothing about trying to "clear" a board. If anyone has tips on how to deal with walls though, I will love them forever.
I told myself that this website would be my little corner of the internet, so even if nobody ever sees this tiny blog page, I think it'd be nice to just air out what I'm thinking. Just keeping it barebones for now.
